I disagree and I live in the snowy and icy conditions

Creature comfort, sure, but a must, not a chance.
If its icy I put it in 4wd

BW44-44 Transfer Case. This two-speed transfer case

I've got the 4wd auto on my sport and love it. Best of both worlds.

I could have swore I read that since mid-2010 they have used BW 44-45s for the part time t-cases. The full time cases used to be New Venture Gear as well up until that point.

I do know that the full time case on my truck is a BW44-44 because I've read the tag.

It may not show the 44-44 as standard on the SLT but I do know I have the SLT with the Lonestar package and I had the option to get the 44-44 so I took it.

I think the 44-44 is standard on the Lone Stars with 4wd. I haven't seen one with just the 4 position case.

ETA: the Lone Star is the same as a Big Horn, the only difference is the badging. Crazy Canuck listed the 44-44 as standard on the Big Horn. The regular SLT gets the 4 position case, as does the Outdoorsman which is the SLT with Outdoorsman package.
