In regards to the LMI Mid-Tube CAI, what is the benefit of moving the IAT into the OEM intake Box?

This came straight from the manufacturer;

The IAT is actually before the airbox with the MID system. Set up like this, it grabs the most accurate possible measurement of incoming air to the system. The CF does not heat soak like other materials, but if I have the opportunity to capture IAT readings as close to possible to the actual air coming into the system I try to do just that. I can't do it on all systems, but the MID systems allows me that opportunity.

Does it make a huge difference??? No, but every little bit helps.......

is there a heat shield or something to help keep the short ram version from sucking in heat? I really want one of these but the idea of it sucking in heat drives me crazy.

also will these fit 2014?

Is the LMI MID Tube available in anything other than carbon fiber? I want to change my intake tube and utilize the factory airbox but I am not into the whole carbon fiber thing!

They look pretty awesome! Definitely going to have to try them out here in the next couple of weeks.

They do not come with a heat shield. He has tested and retested everything and has found the way he sells them, is how they perform the best.
