Default LED Front Turn Signals

I'm looking to replace stock front turn signal bulbs with these LED's....

Can someone help me understand/confirm if these will function correctly as front turn signals. I know they will fit (3157) but @ $20/bulb it'd be good to know for sure.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/1263/2942/

3157 CAN Bus LED Bulb - Dual Intensity 26 SMD LED Tower

16mm 3157 Dual Intensity and Dual Contact Wedge Base CAN Bus bulb. Tower type with 26 high power 5050SMD LEDs. 360 degree viewing angle. 12 VDC operation. Error free LED bulbs are specifically designed with built-in load resistors to allow them to be used with CAN(Controller Area Network) Bus equipped vehicles without triggering the OBC (on-board computer), commonly found in European vehicles such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Porsches. CAN Bus bulbs should not be used in non CAN Bus applications. Price per bulb. Most vehicle applications required 2 bulbs.

I've been looking at the bulbs on superbrightleds - could I order the CAN Bus LED bulbs to avoid soldering resistors on my end? Would like to upgrade reverse and cargo lights, but would prefer a PNP solution.

Here is a good link also to try and figure out what sort of bulbs you need for ANY vehicle. They way they create their list can be slightly confusing though, LINK, feel free to PM me if you need additional help, Im happy to spec LEDs for any vehicle you'd like.

If you have a list of bulbs to add and high resolution pictures to upload with them please send me a PM or post and I will update this until we have a full listing for everyones truck!!

A little more on reading into LEDs as well, as I have seen most suppliers label their LEDs the same way. We will use the most popular "921" bulb

The p/n for a blue 921 as seen in the pictures below is, 921-B12:

921 <--refers to the bulb type B <-- refers to the color 12 <-- refers to the ammount of LEDs in the bulb

another example would be a red version for the third brake light which would read:
921-R12

Also remember LEDs are polarized, meaning they will only work one way. If you plug your brand new LED in and it doesnt work, pull it out and insert it the other way before making an angry phone call to the supplier!

4th Gen LEDs
Reverse - 921
Cargo Lights/Top mount break light - 921
Map lights - 921
Dome light - 4410
License plate - 194
Tail lights / Brake lights- 3157
Front turn signal / Side marker - 3157

4th Gen HIDs
Quad lights
High beams - 9005/HB3
Low beams - H11

Dual lights
High/Low - H13/9008

Fog lights
(regardless of headlights)
H10/9145/9140

Example of 4th gen interior/exterior with complete LED bulb replacement

stock vs HID

SS4Luck,

Thanks for the post. I am looking to purchase the following lights. Will these fit into a 2013? I decided to go with cool white for the exterior and stay with blue for interior.

921-C12 (x4) for the reverse and cargo lights
WLED-WHP5 (x2) for the license plate lights
3157-R45-T (x2) for the tail light/brake light
3157-A45-T (x2) for front turn signal/side markers
HB3-WHP28-DRL (x2) for high beams
H11-WHP28-DRL (x4) for low beams AND fog lights
4410-B9 (x1) for dome light
921-B12 (x2) for map lights

Do you think that these will work for my 2013 Ram?

I just installed LED license plate lights and the top brake light and cargo light. Now when I turn on my truck it says that my license plate lights are out and so is my right rear tail light. Both of which are not and function properly. Any ideas for a solution to this?

You need the resistors on them. Or purchase canbus bulbs.

Can I purchase resistors at the local auto shop? And what exactly are they? Are they small or something that I need to mount onto the vehicle? Also, I planned on changing my tail lights as well, will I need them for those too?

Here's another problem I just found. Apparently my top brake light and cargo lights do not come on when the truck is turned on. When I hit the brake or put it in reverse none of the lights turn on. However when I hit the lock or unlock button they do come on. Is this a resistor issue as well? And is it easier and more sensible to purchase CANBUS bulbs rather than buying resistors for each light?

I've asked before about the resistors, and I believe the answer was 100ohm 25watt. I haven't done it myself. I have bought some LEDs and found that they are not canbus ones, and will only reliably work for the cargo light and the foot well lights inside.
I took the 921 bulb from the footwell and put it in the 3rd brake light to get it working again.
Anything I buy from now on will be canbus bulbs. I don't want to mess around with resistors or harnesses or anything else. I want reliability above all.
