its gonna be pretty hard to "suck up" water in the intake, especially since theres another area for the intake to get air from...

put 2 straws in your mouth and have one straw in a cup of water and the other just in the open air and see if you can suck up water.

You still don't want stuff splashing up and such. I have left my plug off several times but when going hard you do want it in. My dry filter's life was shortened due to lack of plug as you can see it came up the tube and got the filter pretty dirty but not wet. Also got the clear cover dirty on the inside. It's just one of those things when off-roading that you don't really wanna leave open, sort of the opposite of a snorkle.

I installed this a few weeks back, at first I couldn't tell much of a difference, now that I have been on the highway I love it!!!! Cruising is still quiet, put your foot down even a little and it sounds great.

Easy install as well

Thanks for the responses guys. I finally had some time to install it and my new 52mm throttle body so heres some pics for ya

old dirty 48mm Throttle body:

now new ported 52mm throttle body:

and finally the S&B....

this one you can kinda see the texture from the bedliner....

had to heat up the air hat to bend the tube up a lil bit to account for the body lift but think it came out well, still have to work on making the air scoop sometime for it. once i have that made and mounted you guys think i should keep intake black or take it out and spray it red for some color under the hood? thoughts?

Just installed my S&B CAI on my 12' Ram 1500. Took about an hour. Fit great, looks great and sound mean as hell.

I have the S&B on mine. It looks nice, but performance wise...I'm not too impressed. Wishing I would have went with Vararam.

I don't see the '14 Hemi listed yet. There are no differences between the the '13 and '14 Hemis right?
