Default 2013 Longhorn 6.7 Diesel Block Heater

I just purchased a new 2013 3500 Longhorn 6.7 Diesel. The options list a Winter Package, but I do not have a cord to plug in the block heater. The dealer tells me that I have to purchase the cord, it doesn't come with the $65,000 truck. Wow. Anyways, how hard is it to install this cord, and which side of the block is the heater in? I traded my 09 Hemi Ram in for this, so this is my first Diesel. Thanks

If the Winter package you refer to is the cold weather group, it is standard with the block heater. I had the block heater added to my 2500 and had a problem finding the end of the cord. It was tucked up behind the bumper on the passenger side. I pulled it down a little to make it easier to get at.

If it has the cold weather package it most certainly comes with the cord. Check near the tow hook on the passenger side. Thats where mine was hidden. If it doesn't have the cold weather package then you would have to buy the cord. They all have a heater installed.

I bought my cord from http://www.genosgarage.com/
and installed it myself very easy the heater will be on the passenger side of the engine near lower front. It is a very simple install. It will have a cap on it you need to look around with a flash light if you need more help pm me I'll take a pick of mine so you can see where it is.

The cord is dealer installed and some dealers suck, so it's entirely possible OP didn't get the cord. If it's there, you should be able to find it by looking inside the front bumper by the passenger side tow hook area.

The heater is in the block on the right side near the oil filter...It's orange. If the cord isn't installed, you can't miss it.

The dealer sells the cable but a standard Cummins block heater cord will work and they are much cheaper, as someone else noted above.

I installed mine and it took a 5 mins after I found the plug. My truck did not come with the cord attached.
