Default Subwoofer

Each day I think about it I can't help but think that Dodge really shafted us R/T owners...No nice R/T embroidered seats (the freaking durango gets them but not the ram???) Plain ol' interior, and NO subwoofer even though we have the "premium" Alpine system and all other rams with the alpine system came with a subwoofer. Their excuse of there's just no room in a single cab is bulls**t, there is tons of room behind the seats. Anyway I've decided after a year and a half that its time to finish the job that RAM started by adding a sub.

Has anyone added a sub to there rt? I'd like to see some pics if anyone has any and hopefully get some ideas on what kind of sub to add. Audio is just one think that I'm not really that good at so and ideas would be great.

The 6x9's in the doors are the subs.

Not at R/T, but RC, added a Kicker Hideaway under the drivers seat so I still get the full rear cargo.

I've had my RT a couple years now and I'm currently on my recently done second audio upgrade.

First phase was a couple of LOC's from the Stock HU along with dumping the very crappy (no way they were Alpine) front/rear 6x9's and replacing them with some decent Kickers (the factory ones in my '09 Challenger SRT are killer) powered by a Memphis Audio 4x75w Amp then a couple of MTX 12" Sub Wedges behind the seats running from a MTX 650w Mono Amp.

This setup was decent but lacked overall sound quality and the audio spacing was horrible...(my '04 King Cab Titan with a $750 Alpine setup sounded better) so I moved on to a better setup with an AudioControl LC6i replacing the LOC's and swapped out the front Kickers for a HSK Component set I was saving for the SRT but glad I didn't. The MTX amp/subs were replaced with a Memphis Audio 16-MR1.500 Mono Amp running to a single Alpine DVC 4 OHM wired down to 2 OHMs in a Sound Ordnance vented box behind the center console.

It's not particularly camera impressive (see this thread for a sick money no object Ram RC System: http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=85024 but I'll take some pics this weekend if the rain holds off.

wow dude, that system looks awesome, nice job. I definitely want something for behind the seats, I never use that "cargo" area anyway. The search continues...

I added polk 2 ways in the dash and added a Kicker L3 in a ported Kicker made truck box powered by a DX250.1. Faded the soundstage a few ticks to the front and voila, it's a slamming system. Unfortunately our trucks need to be dynamtted completely on the inside. I dynamatted by door panels but that didn't help much. Everything rattles. This system cost me all of $250 bux. For what it is, this system sounds amazing.

here's some pics....nice thing with this amp is that no line out converter was needed. I t-tapped the wiring running into the factory amp under the dash and used a speaker wire to RCA adapter for signal. The nice thing about the kicker amp is that it has a signal sensing technology, therefore no remote turn-on wire was needed either.
