Default Deep Snow

What's the deepest untracked snow that you have driven your stock PW in without getting stuck?

I wish I had a better answer, but not much, lol. Since I got it we haven't had much snow. It's lame. I hope we get a good amount this year so I can add to this.

I've heard complaints from a couple of people getting snow packed around their transmission linkage area but I forgot what it was. I'm just trying to give you guys a heads up in case you ever have a problem like that with shifting so that you'll know what to look for.

Oooh, and something I heard also, is I think we can get some pretty nasty rear axle hop in deep snow if your spinning your tires. Just an FYI. I've also heard of snow packing around the linkage. It's been a while since I heard anything about that though.

I don't know yet, This will be my first winter with the truck. As soon as I find out, I'll be sure to post some deep snow pics

Not a PW but thought I would get the ball rolling with photos. Not to shabby for a 2wd. Still had the stock terrible Wranglers on it with over 40k worth of wear. Ended up to be between a 6-8 inch storm. Did about a 60 mile highway trip that night with no issues. Went right up the drive way when I got home and back out the next day.

Now do I want a 4x4? Yes. I couldn't afford it at the time I bought that truck and now I am spoiled by a super cheap payment so I will keep it ha.

The sleds are ready for the snow though so if it gets bad enough I have alternate forms or transportation

We're supposed to get hit here Thursday into Friday with a 5-8" storm so we will see what happens! Let the games begin.

Yea, the white death is on it's way. 4-7" of snow expected. We shall see if the weather terrorists are any where close. Either way I can't wait to get out and play in it some.

I made it about 10' last winter after we got 3-4 feet of snow. All 4 tires came off the ground. Not a PW but that was the first time I ever got her stuck in snow. Winch has saved my azz a few times off road, though. Once the snow gets around 16" deep, axles will start to plow up snow and you'll be in trouble.

I have taken my 95 ram through 6' of fresh powder with out problems. in the heavier snow started having problems at about 20", but knowing how to drive in the white stuff is more than makes up for it. I used to plow through 12'-18' drifts in my stock Bronco II blasting through stuff that my buddy would bury his heavily modded Ram Charger in.

Back when it actually used to snow in Indiana the only way I would get plow trucks stuck is if I dropped a wheel into a ditch(which I have done a few times). When I was 16 we had a 22" non blowing storm. The gas 3/4 ton Dodge rigs we had would plug right through stuff axle deep and then some with the weight of the plow hanging on the front. We always ran taller series skinnier tires on the plow rigs. Wide tires even if they are tall are garbage in deep snow. Now I live in 2wd land .

Fyi this storm here in Indy has been a flop. Was hoping to take a quick run on the sled around the neighborhood before work this morning but no such luck.
