Thanks a ton for posting this mod. I'll be purchasing the LED's ASAP. Hopefully i can carve out the time to do this soon. I wonder how difficult it will be to do this on the OEM radio. I have an REN which has the fold out face. Hopefully disassembly won't be a nightmare.

I just noticed after looking at your picture of the AC controls again, that there seems to be about 19 or 20 of those smaller LEDs behind the temperature display. Unfortunately, i didn't catch this when i was doing the center stack, so i guess i might be ripping it all out again.

Did you notice that, and have you tried getting to those???

If I remember correctly, that LCD would have to be removed to get to those. I'm sure you would damage the LCD in the process, so in my opinion, I'd leave that alone. I'd love to change the color of that as well, but I have already replaced the controls once because I lifted some of the traces on the board while trying to get the control base out. I ended up using an extra fine soldering tip and worked around it on the new one. Luckily I have a contact at a Dodge dealer and got it at cost.

Again, nice job!

I'm trying to talk myself into doing this... is there anyway you could post a wide angle pic of the completed dash/doors?

I've been wanting to do this for awhile but my hardest part for me is finding the LEDs I want red ones but I'm worried about ordering the wrong ones. Can anyone help me?? Maybe send me a link?

This whole process and write-up is incredible! Truely amazing work. I may attempt this process when winter really hits and I have nothing better to do. My only question for you is with buying the LEDs from different suppliers, are the colors an exact match? I know some may be brighter than other. I'd hate to take all that time and not have them match exactly. THanks for all your info!

470nm blue LEDs should be the same color no matter where you get them. The 470nm is the color wave-length. In this case, blue.

Look at the charts and examples on this page to see what I mean.
