There's no way stock manifolds, cats, and a y pipe scavenge that much. Everything I'm putting on is consistent with the OEM up to the Y pipe exit. The only diff is the Y pipe having a slightly larger cross section compared to the squished OEM Y. After that is a short 3" section to a transition to 4". Again consistent with stock. The transition to the large 4" system is really the only main change here. And being so large the exhaust flow will get maybe a tad lazy at low RPM's. But at full throttle this thing will sing..!

Hornet. Can I ask what you do for a living/experience with all this is..? I like to weed out internet repeaters VS real world experience. haha

You're right i think you're safe too,but it never hurts to pay attention to your manifold heat when you're modifying an engine.
Exhaust manifold heat can give you a very good indication if your tune is right or wrong

LOL,now you're getting a bit personal lad,but twisted wrenches for a few years, then spent the better part of 20 years building pumping stations.
Got a couple years of pulling wire under my belt too.
Basically the school of hard knocks was my teacher, and the ability to look at something when it broke and figure out why it broke are my only talents.
And i broke things

Also know some smart guys,lol

Trust me I know all about watching EGT's. I crew on a Funny Car and we take great strides on our tunes to be around 1100 F. Anything over 1250 starts making aluminum all mooshy. haha. So yes. EGT's are very important. I doubt I can get a proper reading of a cast manifold. But a before and after wouldn't hurt anything. I'm confident the computer will make the right choices. God I hope so because I hate technology sometimes.

Glad to get your input on this. I was a machinist for 8 years. And now work at Joey's Place here in Edmonton building high end muscle cars for the last 5 years. And 3 years on the Funny Car. And many many years of building engines and taking lessons from the smartest car guy I know who's been building cars since the 60's.

Now let's all team up and build something wicked with our crazy car guy minds..!! Haha

K. Back to TIG'n some exhaust. It's so close I can taste it..!!

LOL,i know what you mean.
Sleep when it's running again, till then it's burn the midnight oil, with some cool ones thrown in

There's a few guys i'd like to meet, there's some pretty informantive info here.

I like your ideas, they aren't totally out of the box,but they show some serious thought.

I'm buddies with Ryan Brown, learned a pile of stuff off that man, plus my own experiences and observations.

I loved speed as a kid,but was always bucks down,so i learned to pay attention to my motors.
When you're financing them through the bank, you tried to keep the damn thing from blowing up before the first payment was due,lol
