Well today was 1 step forward and 100 steps backwards on my power door conversion. I took all the wiring and hardware out of my '95 to put into my 2000, only to find that I didn't have the wiring harness to cross from drivers side to passenger side, so I tore apart the 95 to find that the harness is integrated into the main harness. So I tore apart the dash on the 2000 to start building the harness, but ended up destroying my already cracked dash . Ohh well, I was already tossing around the idea of using the 95 dash. I pulled it all apart on both trucks, and it looks like its going to fit. I am going to have to make an adapter for the 2000 harness to the 95 headlight switch though.. other than that every thing fits so far.

More to fallow over the next few days.

Today I modded the headlight switch, and am attempting to make a new instrument panel as the 2000 gauges don't fit into the 95 cluster... Hind sight is 20/20, I should have just cut a round hole into a square box, and drilled new mounting holes.. but noooo... I had to go cutting up the cluster... FML.

we, I got the dash problem a sorted out and installed for now... Next spring when I install my custom sound system, I will tackle the dash to build me a one off custom. but for now I need to work on the door wiring harnesses. I found the 2000 harness running along the windshield channel, and it is tied into the main fuse boxes. so what I need now is a diagram of that harness so I know what wire does what.

Does any one have a color diagragm of the power doors for both pre 1998 and post 1998?

NM I finally found the FSM's for both trucks, now I am in the process of making my own wiring diagram.

So looking at both wiring diagrams, I figured it best to make my own cab wiring harness for the doors, and use the factory 95 harness for inside the doors. I have a couple of connectors and some wire loom I need to buy before I start on the swap. Hopefully next week I can get the connectors and loom. In the mean time, here is the diagram I made for the conversion.

not much to update on my power doors, still trying to find some connectors for a small enough cost. Also debating adding in a fuse box, relay box, and possible a junction as well.

Now onto more questions.
Would a 2000 Dodge Durango Instrument Cluster plug in and work with the 2000 Ram wiring harness? I need a new instrument panel but want to be a little different. I don't care if it fits the hole in the dash or not, as I plan on building a one off custom dash this spring. I am currently gathering parts for my whole make over.

Today I was sitting here at my PC searching the net, just killing time before taking my wife out for breakfast when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. Some one was on my front porch. I wnet to the door, but nobody was there... instead... I had a package sitting on my doorstep... Yay the connectors came in early, unfortunately, I also ordered a dozen rocker switches and some relays that didn't come in yet. Tomorrow I am going to start making my door harnesses, and try talking the wife into letting me bring my old dash in the house to use as a jig for making the new cab harness.
