Those hwy #'s are crazy.
I never once got those. Even feathering the pedal.

When I was bone stock, the best I got on the hwy was 17
Which I thought was not that bad for what I was driving...lol

But that is great for your brother

you mean 17 mpg US correct? I hope you dont mean IMP, my first bit of hwy I did was about 550 kms round trip with a fair bit of northern ontario hills and small, mountains, mds not on for very long and I was at 18.75 mpg IMP hand calculated, my 04 would never get about 18 mpg IMP no matter how smoothe the road. I was dissapointed by my new truck on the hwy a little bit, i expected to be closer to 20 mpg IMP, I am hoping as it breaks in it will get better.

How many KM's on your truck now
I found my truck became much better nearer to 4000-5000kms

Only 1200 miles since I bought my 2011 Express Reg Cab, but getting right at 14 in city and 20-21 on hwy and I drive it like I want. No feathering pedals or anything here. What I do though is let off early, since it doesnt seem to slow down much when you let off, and coast to stops to help the brakes out.

Having a reg cab helps too....but how many miles on your truck entirely? Or you only have 1200 miles total as that is fairly low for an 11....lol

Just purchased a used 2012 1500 Express Crew HEMI 4x2 with a 3.55 gear ratio and 20" wheels. Has 20K+ miles now.

First 230 miles I got 18 mpg on 87 octane from Shell. Hand calculated.

I was consciously driving to conserve fuel:
- tried to never get the RPM above 2000
- coast to stoplights and stopped cars
- always try to keep moving when legally possible
- drove 65 mph on the interstate. I rarely got above 70 mph, only when traffic forced me
- easy on the acceleration
I'm aware of others around and I keep up at stoplights so the green light doesn't turn red because I'm being slow, but I didn't gun it off the line either.

My drive is 50/50 interstate and stop-and-go rush hour traffic.

I'm pretty happy with that. I was expecting 17 and got 18. For the next fill-up, I might try my normal driving style which is moderately aggressive to see what I get.

I don't know how you guys do it. I have an 09 4x4 CC w/ 90,000 miles on it on stock 20's with Michelins and I've never seen anywhere close to 20mpg. According to the EVIC I average about 14 mpg in mostly city driving. On trips on the interstated I've seen it get to 16 or so but thats it. Oh and I use 87 octane gas...

I actually did better in my 09 Ram than I do in my 13. I would get 22-23 highway and 18-19 city. In my 13 I get 17.8mpg city and 20.8 highway and thats after a CAI, exhaust, AMsoil oils throughout and a Bully dog tuner that helps with the mileage. Same engine/gears as my 09...5.7L(now without a power steering pump), 6 speed, 3.55 gears.

My old 2010 and 2012 get exactly the same mileage, here to Orlanda three times a year (660 miles) - 18.6mpg average hand calculated.

Default Fill-up #2

Fillup #2

Next 250 miles I got 16.4 mpg on 87 octane from Sam's Club. Hand calculated.

I drove as I normally do. That is
- I don't gun it at stop lights, but I do accelerate steadily.
- I don't coast as much up to stops
- I keep normal distances to the car in front of me.
- I don't get over 70 mph much.
- Tach will get over 2000 rpm, but not much

There was more bumper-to-bumper traffic with this fill-up due to road construction during the morning commute. I probably spent 10 extra minutes in stop-and-go traffic a day from it.
