Default mod question

This is my firs v-8 but I'm not a stranger to motors "Larry shaw 750 HP race motor, Richard Childress 780 HP race motors" as you can see what model I own I have this question. Unlike my old vehicle 2007 grand Prix gt "307 HP 323 tq from a V-6" am I able to mod this motor without having to re-tune the computer from every little thing?

Yes, even the OBD I computer in your truck has a certain amount of built-in headroom to allow mods. Back in 1992 one of the Mopar car mags did a whole series of articles on building up the hot little 1992 Dodge Dakota 5.2 Magnum. This was all prototype stuff back then. The buildup started with the Mopar Performance Magnum RT cam (seriously better than stock, but still streetable and emissions-legal). They added headers and a better cat-back exhaust. They added the Mopar Perf hi-performance computer. Quarter mile times steadily improved. Then they added a supercharger. One run into testing, they realized the hi-perf computer was dialing in too much ignition advance. They went back to the factory computer and it ran great. Now think about that. Even with the stock intake manifold (there were no M1's then) the modded 318 was kicking out about 270hp with the cam and exhaust, then at least a 35% increase (360+hp) after the supercharger was added.....all on the stock computer. They then went for more power and eventually went back to the hi-perf computer with some more detailed custom work (they installed an anti-detonation device that would roll back the ignition timing of the hi-perf computer when engine knock was sensed while getting the benefit of increased fuel curves). Still, as long as you use a computer-friendly cam (112-114 degree lobe separation) you can make quite a few improvements, run regular gas and tow heavy trailers without worry.

OK cause what I'm wanting to do is new throttle body, intake, an new manifold. Basically a top end build but without a cam if I can get away with it.

No problem there, but a lotta work for mild improvement only without the cam.
