Default Need help choosing shocks!!!

Hello! I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 Sport 4wd with 2" hell bent steel leveling spacers. My front shocks are worn out and I would like to replace them. I have heard good things about fox shocks. There are two choices. One for 0-2" lift and 2-4" lift. Not sure which to choose.

Thanks
Tim

I have never used those, but I had dealer install Rancho 9000's, an extra rear leaf, then crank up my front torsion bars when I bought my 05. Almost 200,000 miles later, they are as stiff as new. I leave em cranked to max.

you need to figure out the droop on your particular suspension. jack up the frame. let the wheels dangle. measure from eye to eye on the mounts with no shock installed.. then as an educated buyer- go choose your shocks!
26.75" eye to eye
or
24.65" eye to eye

Those sound like good shocks too! I will look into them. Thanks

I've got Rancho 9000s (the adjustable version) on my 97 1500 and the ride is a little stiff, but definitely better than stock. i've heard good things about fox also, but really just their shocks with the external reservoir.

so now i'm not sure if i want to go with the Rancho 9000s w/ a reservoir, or trade brands and try out the Fox's w/ a reservoir....so many options!

I recommend Bilstein 5100s. I've been running them for the last 2 years. Prior were the original ones for the offroad edition, which were Bilsteins.

These are a little pricey, but they've given great feel and predictable performance. Additionally, I don't think you'll find much in the way of poor reviews.

Since the OP only has 2" levelers on the front, then here is a link to ones appropriate:

For the rear you have no additional lift:

Use the part numbers to price compare.
