Default 285/75/17 versus 285/70/17

I'm putting a 2.5" leveling kit on my 2011 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab. It came with 275/70/17's. I am not sure if 285/70/17's would look to small with the leveling kit. I know from my research they are only .55" bigger than my stock tires. The 285/75/17's are 1.67" bigger but also about $35-40 more per tire than the 285/70's. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Default HEMI on 285/70/17's

This input came from you guys. So the wife travels the Blue ridge Mtns. between KY and NC. I needed rain & snow. So here is hers with Firestone Destination AT'S II at 285/70/17. Thanks for your posts.....R...

Now note my VIN Plate inside drivers door said 245/60/17 I confirmed with my tire guy prior to ordering 285/70/17, he confirmed they would fit no clearance issues. They in deed did fit and no clearance issues. So first thumbnail is what's on the truck 285/70/17.

This is an 05 HEMI

Now I found these rims (internet) for the 05 HEMI (ours) in this post dated (10/05 / 9:39pm and attached photo), for Dodge Ram Rims:

Internet search indicates, as a company Mid West Tire to be a provider of Original Dodge Ram Rims in their advertising.

Also to address photo and tire size of 285/70/17 tire size, calc calls it a 32.7 (or 33"). So 05 HEMI 3.72 gearing inadequate for heavy off roading and towing without upgrading to 4.10 gearing or higher. Will cause increased wear on this auto transmission using this tire size with stock gearing of 3.72. Note don't have my build sheet yet.

Midwest Wheel & Tire
5 x 5.5
wheel 17 x 8
Machined Face
Part number 2164MS
$174 and change, each

Research so far...........R...

Go with the 75's for a little more height - looks better IMO ...
