I have found that it is very strong for a little v6. It's actually probably faster than my truck. According to google the wrangler with the 3.6L does 0-60 in something like 6.7 seconds. My truck is right at 7 seconds. That pisses me off LOL.
Ahh, that is exactly my point. When my Wrangler was stock, it was as you said above, good mileage and ran like a champ. But, add a 3" lift and agressive tires to the mix and the V6 suffered a whole lot more than I expected, even with the lower gears. Its fuel economy dropped like a rock and highway performance was poor. By poor I don't mean it was bad for a lifted Jeep but considering its power numbers on paper, it was dissapointing. I guess they engineered it to do its job well at a specific configuration but getting outside of that caused a big drop.

So, I wonder if you take the RAM, add a 2" or so leveling kit, a heavy bumper and some agressive tires (assuming they are close to stock height), if the fuel economy takes a big hit and highway speeds suffer.

Sorry to hijack the thread...

Very interested in this as well but I am guessing 35s and a lift would strain the V6 pretty bad. I'd be curious but I think I am going to wait it out for the Eco Diesel or get a Hemi because I want to do 35s MAYBE 37s.

Default Ram 1500 SXT

Hi, I purchased my Ram 1500 SXT 3.6 V6 about a month ago. So far it has been an amazeing truck. I am averaging 11L /100Km. Before my cat-back exhaust was installed I was averaging 11.5L /100KM. I drive to and from work. (20km hilly back roads) and around town. I have only taken the truck on the high way to break it in. I purchased the truck for $31,000 taxes, lifetime rust protection, bedliner, and all other fees included. The powertrain combo is great in my mind. My current mods are cat-back, tonneu cover, short antenna, and my two inch lowering coils for the back should be here monday. My planned mods are front and rear sway bars, Bilstein shocks, 20" rims with low profile tyres (when the stock tyres are worn out), Tune, possibly polyurethane mounts, and a ripp supercharger kit. I purchased the truck with the uconnect 3.0 which in my opinion sounds great for a stock system. I didnt get the hands free or touch screen because I dont need my truck to give me directions or tell me the weather (my cell phone allready does that) and hands free leaves me juas as distracted as if the cell phone was in my hand (I just find a good place to park and call them back). Opinions?

I got a SLT CC v6 with 3.55. I test drove a QC with 3.21. I am glad i got the higher rearend. I am very pleased with the truck. If your not pulling frequently then go with Hemi. Otherwise, the v6 has plenty of juice.

I just got my V6 QC 3.21 this past Wed and so far I like this truck a lot. It is a pleasure to drive and has adequate power for my needs. My previous truck was a 08 Tundra SR5 DC 5.7 which had more power than I needed but was also fun to drive and thirsty.
