Default 1500 Sport Exhaust

Hello,
I want a better sounding exhaust but dont want to spend a ton of cash, so Im thinking of just getting the muffler installed instead of a whole new catback. I am going Magnaflow. Anyone have any experience with this and can share some pros and cons. I want something that sounds nice but not to loud. Was thinking a Magnaflow 14". Thanks in advance

There are lots of guys whom have put Magnaflow's on their Rams. I put one on my 05 that I had, loved it but it was a true daul setup (daul in dual out w/X pipe on inside), I also did away with the "Y" pipe so as to make it a true daul. I got lots of compliments on it and will probably go that route on my 13.

I did the same thing as AirborneSilva. Deleted my Y pipe, installed the DI/DO Magnaflow 14" and then had the pipes dumped in front of my RR tire. Looks good, sounds good. Lot's of compliments, except from my wife, of course.

Yes but either outlet size will work. Check out BSM Exhaust Works, they are a forum vendor who specializes in exhaust components. I have their 18" version that sounds identical to the Magnaflows, costs about 1/2 the price. Very nice quality product, highly recommend it. I spent less than 120 bucks buying the muffler and having it welded in. FYI these style mufflers get louder after about 6 months. My 18 sounds really nasty and gets pretty loud when I step on it.

I went with a Borla 18" muffler 3 inch in 2.5 dual out and it welded right up. In my original post, I said the drone was a 5 out of 10, but after further miles, I would say it's about a 3 as far as drone. I am completely satisfied with the sound-really nice aggressive tone when your on it, nice at idle, and fairly quiet when your not in the gas! My mustang 5.0 with Flowmasters really had drone-

I love my Mag. 14" minimal drone in cab, and aggressive on the outside.

Here is my thread on the Magnaflow 14" on a Sport install. http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=148502

You will find a sound clip, install information, and sizing charts. I hope it helps.

To answer the question, yes it is 3" in and duel 2.25" out. If you go with a 2.5" out you will need a reducer installed.

Figure on about $200-$300 for install and the muffler; $200 if you do it and $300 if a shop does it.

Muffler: $85-130
Parts and consumables: $75-100 (extensions, clamps, reducers, bends)
Shop Install: $150-$200 including parts.

*Yes, it can be done cheaper, but not much.
