Tried ordering one today, but "giveaway" in any form doesn't work for a discount, so I'm guessing you're not running a third group buy after all?

No worries. After looking at the other threads I see where I was misunderstanding lol. I'll probably just buy the open-box one you have right now anyway. Thanks though!

mdram43, unfortunately it is difficult to get proper dyno charts on the Vararam for the main reason that it requires air to be sucked into it, hence why its called an air grabber

On the dyno, this is very difficult to emulate what happens out doors and when you are driving.
Essentially the faster you go the more air it sucks in and in turn produces more power for you.
Where you will see the Vararam shine is on WOT or on the freeway.
Under normal driving conditions it will act as any other traditional CAI.

Now this 'sucking in of air' will also benefit you MPG wise on the freeway.
This is what I noticed when installing it on my truck. I noticed a 1-1.5 MPG increase and noticed that more on the freeway

That being said, the numbers Vararam mention (in our initial post) may not be 100% accurate, but it does give you more performance over the other CAI's. Many test were done at the track where it cut down someones time....again because of all the air it pulls/sucks in under WOT

Hope this helps and addresses it somewhat

with all due respect,

your asking people to pay over $300 and claiming 30 hp? how is 30 hp hard to prove on a dyno? 30 hp shows up on a dyno.

sorry, I have an intake, and was interested in your product but find it hard to justify spending more money on something with no facts behind it.

I like your product due to the way the duct work "grabs air" from in front of the truck, thus making it a true COLD air kit, but my last rams AFE mounted the intake lower and grabbed the air from below the truck. now alot of people will say, well then you get water in your intake, I never had a problem.

To throw out numbers you should have them backed. Also is your 1-1.5 mpg gain driving like a grandma, driving normal with some normal acceleration, all flat, are you in a colder area? because I can justify spending 300 bucks on something that will gain me an mpg because I will save that in a few months.

In all due respect as well. Those numbers are NOT published by us rather published by Vararam themselves.
We are only passing over the numbers Vararam tested and rated it for.

As for the MPG, this is only my OWN experience and what I have noticed.
There are a few threads on the Z where others claimed the same thing.
Yes, you are right! It is all relative to the terrain, whether you drive live a grandma, driving normal, etc.

I would say, I do not drive my truck hard as I have no need to. I do drive normal and maybe to some that is considered a grandma. Here in Toronto, there are alot of up and down (nothing crazy) but it definitely is not flat.

If you have questions and would like to take it off line, pls feel free to email me at sales@bullysperformance.com

I saw this Vararam system for the first time today. It looks pretty neat. I have a 2011 1500 with the R/T hood. Would the Vararam system benefit if I were to cut out the Fake scoops on the hood or it really doesn't matter?
