Default Ignition issue????

Anyone have an issue with the truck not starting, despite having full power? Yesterday I went to start my truck, but it wouldn't turn over. It was acting like it would if the battery were dead, but the battery was not dead. All other electrical items (stereo, gauges, radar detector, etc.) worked fine, it just wouldn't start. After turning the key 6 or 7 times, it then decided to fire up. Any thoughts???

Try taking it out of park and then put it back in, Its has been said that sometimes if the transmission is not properly in park the truck will not start. If you put your key in run and press your brake, try putting the trans in Neutral and try to start it.

My truck has done exactly what you describe twice. Yesterday it took about 12 tries to start. I'll try to be a bit more methodical next time to see if it's the neutral safety switch.

Yep as said above it may has something to do with the neutral safety switch or something in the transmission. I have seen a few cases like this pop up on the forum.

Best bet is if it won't start, pop it into neutral and then try again. If it starts then there is a a good place to have your dealer start looking!

It's done it a few times now. The second time it just kept churning like an older truck would if it were having trouble starting, only my hand wasn't on the key. The last time was like the first where it acted like the battery was too low. Took it to the dealer last week and of course it didn't do it, so they couldn't fix it. I just hope I don't get stranded somewhere and have to use the lovely towing assistance function on the UConnect.

Oh, and I tried the neutral trick, but it didn't work.

Mine hasn't not started yet but it has been starting poorly. Only when the engine is cold. ie: first startup of the day or its been sitting several hours. It will kinda sputter or the older truck trouble starting sounds. I guess I'll have to take it into the dealership.
