Well, since it seems to be sort of hard to find LED guides for our trucks, were banding together and creating an ALL Generation LED bulb guide. Also we will include HIDs to make everyones life a little easier. If you have read through a bulb replacement guide you will notice that most of the LEDs bulb # is the same as the halogen bulb number say from PepBoys or Autozone.

Here is a good link also to try and figure out what sort of bulbs you need for ANY vehicle. They way they create their list can be slightly confusing though, LINK, feel free to PM me if you need additional help, Im happy to spec LEDs for any vehicle you'd like.

If you have a list of bulbs to add and high resolution pictures to upload with them please send me a PM or post and I will update this until we have a full listing for everyones truck!!

A little more on reading into LEDs as well, as I have seen most suppliers label their LEDs the same way. We will use the most popular "921" bulb

The p/n for a blue 921 as seen in the pictures below is, 921-B12:

921 <--refers to the bulb type B <-- refers to the color 12 <-- refers to the ammount of LEDs in the bulb

another example would be a red version for the third brake light which would read:
921-R12

Also remember LEDs are polarized, meaning they will only work one way. If you plug your brand new LED in and it doesnt work, pull it out and insert it the other way before making an angry phone call to the supplier!

4th Gen LEDs
Reverse - 921
Cargo Lights/Top mount break light - 921
Map lights - 921
Dome light - 4410
License plate - 194
Tail lights / Brake lights- 3157
Front turn signal / Side marker - 3157

4th Gen HIDs
Quad lights
High beams - 9005/HB3
Low beams - H11

Dual lights
High/Low - H13/9008

Fog lights
(regardless of headlights)
H10/9145/9140

No problems man , for the Dome light the festoon bulb remains the same, it retains it's size in length no matter how many LED's are actually on it. For the map lights I used the 921x9 LED in cool white and they don't wash out the interior as bad as the 921x12's which I used for the reverse lights but in blue and used them for the cargo lights as well. the socket for these is relatively wide and deep so you could fit a larder bulb if you wanted. The License plate lights I used the 194x4, they light up the plate nicely and I'm not sure if anyone has gone larger, when I was installing mine I had to kind of "massage" them to get them into the small opening for some reason. Let us know if you have any more ?'s

I have a question, I do not know if I'm in the right section cause its for Leds lights but its leds that I'll put insine my headlights, and fog lights, and ANgel Eyes, I was wondering if I could splice the cable that goes to the cargo light switch and plug my angel eyes and leds to it so that way when I turn on my cargo light on it turns everything ON at the same time!

I am having trouble visualizing what you are trying to do. You want to run your cargo lights when you run your LED's and Angel Eyes? Or do you just want to tap the power that goes to that switch to run all the LED's and Angle Eyes?

me...

I want to tap to the power that goes out of the switch so when I turn on my cargo light( The light behind the Cab that is with the 3rd break light) I turn on the others lights too! (Nevermind I read that there is always 12V on and it goes with a resistor to the CPU that detects the drop down courant. ANd btw the Cargo lights dont stay on plus than 20min) So I'll need to put another switch or you got an idea what switch I could use that stays on? If I want to put a relay for the led what kind should it be. Im trying to find an alternative to use a switch that Is already existant! I could use one of my Map light to use like a switch for my led and Angel EYes. COuld that work?

you could cut into the park lights. or if you have drl's on your truck you could splice into them. me personally i have a swith in the cab and i have it straight wired to the battery with a 15a fuze. it has been running for at least an hour straight once when driving and the fuze hasnt blown. one really good way you could wire it is to splice into the ignition wire somewhere so that it is on only when the car is running, and you could have a switch on the dash to turn them off if you wanted to.

if it was me, and i wanted them on always, drl or parking light splice. the only reason i straightwired mine, is because i was in a hurry to wire them up and didnt have the time to locate the ignition wire. i kinda want my halos to be independent of the park lights for right now. but if i get the awesome headlights that go with my fog lights, i will wire the halos on the fog lights to the halos on the headlights and hook them into the parking lights.

the parking lights are always on unless you turn all lights off. they come on when the headlights are on. it would probably be best to use the parking lights if these are halos that are in the headlights. that is what ill do eventually when i get halo headlights.

i hope this helps you. good luck.

i just replaced my interior lights. they are freaking sweet. i cant get a picture right now, but ill try.
i used WLED-xHP10-DAC for the dome light. i was a little worried that it wouldnt work since leds are directional, but i pluged it in and it worked with no alterations.
i used WLED-xHP15-T for the map lights. it was simple. i did have to move one of them in order to get it to light because of the direction, but it was really easy. all in all i think it took about 10-15 minuites.

if anybody has a 1998-2001 ram and they want to get the biggest led replacement that has a different color, i reccomend getting these. they are the absolute biggest that will fit and still be in a different color. the map light replacements are the same size as the actual bulbs, but the dome light replacement is bigger than the actual bulb. the total cost was about $50 and it was totally worth it.

these are so freaking sweet. i can see better than i could with my oem lights. it is bright useable light that is also blue.

...next comes the window controls to blue. i ordered the 5 3mm leds necessary to replace the green leds in the controls. now they just have to get here.

...and so begins the wait.

SS4luckkyy.. quick question.. if I put reverse LEDs in my 09 (so 921 bulb) will they stay lit all the time with a very dim light like my LED 921 in the cargo spot do ?

#196 ·
If you solder a 100 Ohm 1watt resister to one of your LED cargo bulbs they will shut off when not in use, (check out the sticky there is even a pic with the resister soldered on). As for the reverse bulbs, my LEDs are only on when in reverse. Hope this helps you out.

Cheers!

Verify that the bulb for reverse goes in from the back. My 2012 has the reverse light coming in from the bottom. So the 921 might be correct but if it does not come from the back you will need a different tupe bulb that will use the reflector.

I think the testing has show a 194 tower style bulb will work better for the 2012s because it actually shines light into the reflector as well

I cant go back that far and edit the post now, if your looking for certain part numerbs/ammounts/colors shoot me a PM or a visitor message and I can help ya no problem

1997 ram 1500 Laramie LED lights

Hello hows it going pics are cool. I know I can pull my tail light assembly apart to see what bulbs I need. I would just a soon do it once but the link Says it can be 1156 or 3157 would you happen to know. I believe it is 3157 but there are two bulbs is one 1156.

#211 ·
i have a 1999 ram and on mine it is the 3157. the 1997 rams were the year before the changes. id have to guess a 1157.

i just googled it and confirmed that it is the 1157. but if i was you id still check. i think 1997 was the year they started the changes about halfway through the year.
the twist lock is the 1157 and the wedge is the 3157. taking the light assembly out is easy. there are 2 torx screws and it just pulls straight out. or you could get on a creeper or crawl under the truck and twist the socket and remove it from the light housing to see what the bulbs base is.

let us know if you have any problems.

A few people have had this problem before. The first place/thing i tell people do to for a fix is to solder 100W 1Ohm Resistors to the LEDs. That usually fixes the problem. Mikeski posted great pics of how it should look HERE he is also a soldering god and his look amazing. It doesnt have to be that perfect, and depending on location may have to be bent a little differently.

as far as the rear dome light it is the same with the resister just solder the resistor across it so each end of the resistor is on a fidderend side/contacct of the bulb

you can get the resistors at your local radio shack for about $2.50 for 2

anyone know a good way to pull out the OEM bulb in the map light up in front between the driver and passenger upper console? I guess my fingers are not small enough to pull the bulb out. I already changed the third brake light, licence plate light to white LED. Also what length is the festoon bulb in the back dome light?

Thanks in advance for any inputs.
