thanks guys for the props..we were all once newbe's at one point or another..I remember when i first got my 3rd gen back in 05..the extent of my hands on motor skills was changing oil and sparkplugs and disc brakes. Followed forums and watched people mod their trucks never thinking I would follow suit...I just wanted to read and say go for it guys..spread the hemi gospel. Then i did all the safe add-on mods (sc programmer, cat back exhaust and cai)...thought I was happy then and kept readin on and one about the more advanced mods like headers, cams and what not and when ideal situations came up (like a guy selling coated pacesetter lt's for $150 cuz he was selling his truck), I took that next step. Then a deal came up where a local guy bought a 6.1 cam and then decided not to install it and he GAVE it to me where it sat on my desk at work for almost a year (cuz i din't know how or who would install it)..the beauty and kinship of the ram brotherhood...someone pm's me outta the blue, "hey i remember you picked up a 6.1 cam awhile back, did you get it installed yet"...after answering no he tells me he'll come out and install it for me (mind you, i live in Norcal and he lived at the time in El Paso, Tx)...uh, i didn't know what to say, he wasn't going to charge me, just pick him up in Reno when his unit was going there to do stuff...then, what made it even better, a few guys were roadtripping to San Francisco for a weekend (20 minutes from me). I picked him up and brought him home, invited a few of the forum guys over to watch him do his stuff. I then realized it was easy to do (as long as someone shows me the first time)..since that time I've done and helped out with 25+ cam/head installs and picked up more knowledge on our hemi's..... bottom line, with out that simple gesture from a fellow member (different forum but the same can be said about here as well), I've learned to share and give of myself and try to advise others based off the success of my experience with my truck... never dreamed one way or another that I would have a really fast truck, much less hold the qc hemi 1/4 record for any period of time (jan09-may09)... I have developed many friendships over the years just because of my truck..but moreso the forums because of my truck... I'll do my best to keep sharing my experiences and vids I consider you guys my brothers and friends and help when i can.. thanks Timmy!
