The switch is either on the Transfer Case, or front axle... since you don't have a CAD, then it has to be on the transfer case.

i would think alternator bearings or power steering pump before deducing bad water pump bearings.. take the belt off and try to move the fan up and down, then left to right.. push the fan in and out...

Good news is that the kit will fix your problem.. bad news is that you could have built your own kit for less than $30.00 by getting a 8' choke cable, a brass cable clamp, and a couple of hose clamps.

The light is engaged when the axle collar actually engages, not when the TC (Transfer Case) is engaged... I would look at the Vacuum Control Switch on the TC and make sure that when the TC is engaged...

replace the glass in the mirror.. the heating elements are probably burnt out... easy check.. turn the defrost on and see if they the elements are getting power with a test light.
