Stock is 19 mm. So you have 18 mm which sticks out 1 mm more. Plus 10 mm more on the 285 than the 275's you're running now for a total of 11 mm wider than what you have now. So, they will stick out...

3.5 is way too much for a spacer. You geometry will be too high and your cv and ball joints will be destroyed. Best to stick to 2.5 or less on spacers. You can get 2.8 on the Bilstein 5100...

I too am completely unfamiliar with any braking issues. I've towed my travel trailer thousands of miles over the highest mountains and there haven't been any brake issues.

It's a common tale. Hopefully yours will go away after your alignment. No one has reported damage to their trucks from it. Try not to accelerate too hard from stop in 4wd. Let us know how it goes...

Fox makes stuff that is as expensive and as good as Icon and King. But Icon and King don't make basic off road and trail stuff like Fox. You're gonna love the 2.0's.

When you turn in 4WD you will grind if you have too much traction. If you don't need the 4WD then turn it off and you won't grind when cornering.
