Iron Cross Heavy Duty installed...disappointed

Just installed Iron Cross's heavy duty nerf bars, pretty dissapointed in these boards. They look OK but are pretty useless. The steps are too far inboard, looking down fron inside the truck can only see a little more than the leading edge, a couple of inches. The front steps are too far forward to use as a step when exiting the truck. Wishing I went with another step now.

I think they look good! Do they mount to the frame or the rockers?

If it's any consolation, they look good..........

They mount to the rockers, they are sturdy and well built.

Could it be you have the right and left bars reversed? That might change the step location for you. I don't know since I haven't seen the install instructions though. Just a thought.

I'm surprised that they sold them as for the Ram

Mine stick out almost as far as my tires, i use them mostly for climbing in but, i use my right heel on the step to climb out, especially into mud or wet grass along with help of the door post grab handle

I had my rear step cut off & a new longer one was fabricated

A set of a different brand was installed on my buddies truck with the same problem. They had them reversed. Swapped them out and all was fine.

my iron cross steps have a track system and they seem to stick out pretty far. not as heavy duty as those but with the track system the steps are easily removed.
