6 Inch RCX lift problems.
 
About two months or so ago, I installed a 6 inch RCX suspension lift in my 2007 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4. Bilsteins set at 0. Ive been noticing that my truck doesnt sit right, it seems the whole drivers side seems to sit low. As you can see in the pictures.

You can kinda tell in this first picture from the front.

And then, the rear end is clearly off in this picture.

This is a pic of the passenger side control arm level, which is clearly further down, giving that side a higher ride hieght

Idk whats going on here, but its kinda irritating, any help would be much appreciated. the blocks in the rear are seated properly, everything's tight I took my truck to a local tire/alignment shop, he looked it over real quick and came up with the conclusion that "thats just how the truck is" "its just in the truck." So I really dont know what to do, but little stuff like this gets under my skin, Hate when my vehicles dont look right. So again, ANY help would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

Double check the Bilsteins to make sure both are at 0, just a shot in the dark. Maybe the right side is on .7 or 1.4 by mistake.

already checked the bilsteins, they are both at the same height. Could a bad alignment cause this? I do notice the truck pulling slightly to the right. And if I want to go down the road straight, I have to hold the wheel slightly to the right.

An alignment could out it out slightly but I don't know if it would put it out that much. Definitely get it checked though, that's the next step.

You checked the bottom of the Bilsteins but did you check the top to make sure everything was installed correctly and that the spring is sitting on the retainer correctly? If the retainer is rotated it will cause additional lift.

My buddy had this issue with a different model truck just a few weeks ago after installing an rcx kit. After being in the shop several times, they came up with the conclusion that the spring was collapsed. Never heard of that but they ordered a new spring and it set pretty after that. Might want to give it a shot. You couldn't really tell at stock height that it was off. Only when we had been working for 10 hrs installing the lift and step back to look at a lopsided truck, pretty frustrated. But that fixed his problem

Definitely have some good suggestions here, thanks guys, the springs on my truck are unknown to me. They are stock springs with supposedly 8,000 miles on them. I bought them off craigslist so I could install the bilsteins in them without my truck being down while they were at the shop. maybe its worth buying two new OEM coil springs and seeing if that works. Thanks again guys, I'll post up my findings as they come.

So I went ahead and took some pictures of my upper and lower coil spring mounts on both sides, I dont see anything out of the ordinary here, looks good to me. What do you guys think? I also took some measurements on both sides from the top of the upper mount to the bottom mount right where the coil spring ends, which is the lowest part of the bottom mount. Drivers side measured from top of mount to bottom mount at 2.5 inches. Passenger side measured 3 inches. Is it safe to assume I have a "collapsed" spring or at least a worn out spring on the drivers side?

Another thought also occurred to me, Idk anything about the springs that are in my truck, they came as assembled factory struts with supposedly 8,000 miles on them. Idk if the truck they came off of was a 4x4, 4.7, hemi? Did they put different front springs in trucks with the 4.7? or 2wd models?

Also, I called my dealer, and it will cost me $140 per spring, and Id rather do both than just one side, unless you guys think it would be fine to just get the drivers side?????

I also tripple checked my bilsteins, they are both set at the same height, 0.

The spring retainers look fine. They are in the correct locations. What possibly happened is that your springs are installed on the wrong sides. I've read that different spring rates are used on each corner of the Rams. So maybe the one you have on the drivers side is actually the passenger side spring that has a lower rate causing it to sag :4-dontknow: Maybe try pulling your struts off and swap sides and see what happens. It's worth a shot to do that before forking out the money for new springs altogether.

Huh, that's weird, maybe I should call my local dealer and see if they can verify that.
