change exhaust tips?

i was looking around and couldnt find an answer i was wondering if anyone has changed the exhaust tips to the 5 inch. i seen ppl do it with the resonator delete but idk if i wanna do that. i was hoping to just cut the factor tips off and add a set of new 5 inch tips?? any help would be great thanks all

I believe you need to remove the resonators in order to fit the adapters that are required to put the 5" tip on there.

I wouldn't hesitate to pull those resonators off. You've already changed the muffler and it will sound even better with the resonators off. I'm guessing MDS or cab drone is your main concern with taking them off?

Im 99% sure you can if you keep the tip under 12" long..

I hacked my reso's in favor of a 12'' x 5'' black tip from MBRP and couldn't be happier!

I hacked my resonator off and also put on a MBRP black 5" tip. With you already running a super 40 muffler.. I highly reconmend cutting it out and never looking back.. I have the super 44 and ran it dumping under the box for a week.. To loud with box echo, Welded stock resonator pipe back on.. Then cut it out and put new mandrel pipe back to a 5" tip and love the sound.. It's perfect now.

Got my tip and adapter through Bully's performance-- I highly reconmend them, have had excellent service with every purchase I have made.. No problems, damage and great prices.

I didn't hack anything off and picked up a set of 5" tips from BSM exhaust works.

Just unbolt the factory tips, remove and bolt in the new ones. Mine stick out a bit due to the hack job exhaust work that was done by some dummy who will never get my business again.

They cost a bit but I don't care.. sold a few things anyways.

Ohhhhh i forgot!!!! Mufflex offers direct bolt on set of stainless 5" tips!! They bolt right up at the factory ball clamp. They do cost like $200 though. But some stainless tips cost like 50-75 ea plus labor. Its about the same really. And you can swap em out if you ever sell them truck and make some money back!

Just another idea
