X Pipe
 
I've seen a lot users talking about Y pipes but have rarely seen anything about X Pipes. I've done a little research but I like to hear from the forum if there is a reason why more people have gone with the Y over the X? I ask because I've ordered an X and am waiting on my exhaust to come to have them installed together.

The way our system is set up it has to meet and run down the passenger side underbody because the fuel tank is in the way on the driver side. The reason you don't see much talk about an x-pipe is because it's typically easier to join into 1 pipe and run a 1-in 2-out muffler than run an x-pipe, and a 2-in 2-out muffler.

Now, my system and a few other guys with higher performance run true duals that still run down the passenger side, but it's very crowded trying to install 2 straight-flow mufflers into that small space before the axle, or run a 2-in-2-out muffler, but they rarely ever have good flow characteristics.

I did true dual 2.5" borla xr1 and I love the sound. Custom from the cats back. I have a post about it with pics

there are 3 choices...the Y is for single pipe exhaust, the X and H are for true dual setups.. bgramling went the H rout.. it's been said that H's are good for low end performance while X's moreso towards top end.
