Lucas Oil makes some good products, but I wouldn't call them a miracle in a can or bottle or whatever it comes in. I know it by reputation only. It's a good additive, but not likely to solve all your issues or add MPG's, sound, or performance to Silver. Lucas stabilizer isn't going to hurt Silver, but a quality synthetic oil will do the engine better. We're all entitled to our opinion. Your mechanic thinks highly of this stuff, and that's good, kinda like I think highly of Seafoam. But Seafoam isn't a miracle, and it's no alternative to proper maintenance.
4.7's have a reputation for building up sludge, which is why I installed it as soon as I could. Well, that's not true. I installed it when I got around to it. It won't help you solve the world's problems, but it will keep a lot of the eewww out of your intake and out of your engine.

See you round, Little Lady. Take care of yourself.
Oh, and quit scaring all the boys.

    What's goin' on little lady?
The catch can wasn't difficult at all, since the PCV valve is located up front. Mine is not fancy by any means. I picked up an air compressor filter at Sears for about $20 bucks, about $10 worth of high pressure exhaust hose, some fittings, clamps and zip ties. It comes off the PCV, under the intake tube to the filter, out of the filter to the intake manifold.
I did it to filter the goo and see what I was sucking in to the intake. And good night nurse is it ever yucky. Now, it's not a lot, comparatively day to day. But when I check it after 3 months, holy cow. The filter is half full with gunk and goo that otherwise would have went in to my intake. It keeps the intake that much cleaner, so it keeps my burn just a bit cleaner.
I've had it on there for 4 years, now. Just a little extra piece of mind knowing that all the crankcase goo isn't going back in to my engine.
Holler at me if you have any more questions.
Good luck in the MOTM contest!

    Hey, kiddo!

Sorry to hear about Silvers A/C problem. That's certainly strange!?!

And, glad to hear that your vocabulary includes the best of a sailors!
You need that sometimes to get your point across!!

    NP on the nomination.

    T/c, kiddo.

Hmmm, that is weird. The metal fitting on your low pressure line just popped. The techs put it back together and now it's all gooder? It will probably pop again, just take some toilet paper with you to clean up the mess.

First thing that comes to mind is a weak spot in the hose. After so many years of hi/lo pressures and hot/cold temps, it just gave up the ghost. The other issue could be that the compressor compressed too much, causing the weakest part of the hose to go blewy. Either way, make sure your mechanic checks out the compressor for damage and or metal shavings.
Don't be too confused regarding the cooling system and the a/c system. They are totally separate and different. Let me know if you want a quick run down of them, what they do, how they work and the different parts under the hood.

    Be well, Kelsey!

Thanks for lookin' at the pics, Kelsey. Bruno is your biggest fan. And he appreciates the compliments.
Everything is good. Getting ready to turn in for the night. Approaching the bewitching hour here. I, too, will need a syringe full of caffeine in about 5 or so hours.
Tuesday I'll be heading to Florida for the week. Fly home Saturday, then have to drive out to Lubbock (6 hours west) for the week. Busy, busy. But, the bills won't pay themselves.
One of these days, we'll get Bruno and Silver together for a play date. Until then, sleep well, my friend. Take care of yourself and your back.

I am great, Kelsey. Thanks for asking. I'm well rested from an awesome vacation up in Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks. My wife's family has some lakeside property and a lake house in Gravois Mills. Lots of fishing and beverage consumption of the adult type.

Bruno is great. He did very well up and back. Didn't get as good of mileage as I had hoped. I'm thinking that has something to do with the bigger tires, but I need to investigate further. He even got to do some light off-roading down and through a stream. Got a few pics I'll post up soon.

Besides your back, how was your fourth?

Still being upright and breathing is a great alternative to the opposite.

Make your job finding a job. I haven't had to look for a job in... well, let's see. I don't think you were even born yet. Hey, you take care of yourself, too, Kelsey. I'll talk to you when I get back. And thanks for having my back. You rock, Girl!
