Just wanted to give an update to one of my earlier posts regarding my spark plugs...I finally got to replace my spark plugs that I bought from the dealership. After reading all the posts about aftermarket plugs I went to safe route and replaced with the OEM from the dealership. With 65K miles I have to admit my truck idles MUCH MUCH better than before!! Okay, now here is my problem...while I was replacing my plugs on the passenger side by the firewall...I moved the low pressure AC line just a little bit (so I could get my 3/8" extension and spark plug socket in the holes)...well guess what????!!! The next day I did not have AC! Compressor would not engage! Looked at EVERYTHING that I could. Finally looked under the engine on the passenger side and saw AC oil on my frame. Expansion block/valve is leaking...Going to remove and inspect...Kevin in Dallas

Justin, been surfing around the forums and have gotten so many ideas...went to the dealership and bought 16! plugs...I asked for a military discount and they did give it to me...got all 16 for about $50...cant complain...trying to decidehave any thoughts on upgrading the headlights with HID, brake lights, etc with LED's...there is so much information on this website! My wife and kids think I have lost my mind researching all this stuff...but thats what we do right? Still trying to decide if I should change my antifreeze or not? Saw where you were talking about manifold bolts...thankfully the dealership here in Dallas replaced mine already at 35K miles...dont know how many though...Kevin

Hey Kevin, just got your message. Spark plugs are supposed to be changed every 30k miles, yes. Antifreeze that I bought from the dealer does say 5yr/100k miles on the gallon jug I purchased. As far as if it really is that good, my thoughts, I honestly don't know man. I will say this though, as expensive as it is, I would hope so lol. I have heard of the 4th generation Rams and also previous 2nd and 3rd generation Rams having tranny problems. I know they are bad for ball joints going out as well. I am changing the oil in mine today. Valvoline 5w-20 and a Wix oil filter. I know next time I take my truck to the dealership I am going to have them check the tranny and differential, while its there, and probably have them go ahead and grease and lube all the chassis and differential. Need any more info just ask bud. Hope this helps some.

Hello and welcome! Seen your newbie post and thought I would stop by to say welcome! As far as your truck goes with maintenance. It requires 5w-20 oil. I run Valvoline and it does great. Everyone has there preferences though. I will say as far as the oil filter goes. I would go with K&N, Mobil1, or a Wix Filter. Do not run Fram on your Dodge! It will cause dry starts. As far as plugs go, I stick with Mopar, just for warranty measures, antifreeze you should get from the dealer. It is expensive but its some kind of special formula that Dodge uses. Do not put 50/50 in it such as Prestone or any other brand that says "mixes with anything". That is not so with your truck. If there's anything else I can help with, feel free to pm me, or just leave me a post. Again, welcome, and congrats on your truck!

Thanks so much for the messages...I have not ignored them, just didnt realize I had these messages! I have looked at other forums but this forum really appealed to my inner gearhead...seems like everyone else is the same way.

I put up a thread on the newbie area...anyway for you guys to see that thread that I put up, instead of me retyping the original? I have a feeling between you three, I should get the information I need and I feel that you guys will be an awesome bunch to converse with...

I am very proud of my Ram and I am going to use BlueJet's link to upload. And also RansRam, I did post a little something about myself (without sounding creepy or corney)...and Stump3R, looks like you know your way around this website, seen your threads alot...thanks again you guys, look forward to hearing back from you all!!
